Hurricane Irma hit Florida leaving people and businesses in devastation. We used our new heavy lift equipment to help our customers in need. Some Freight Forwarders needed help storing large outdoor generators during the aftermath of Irma, as a result, U.S. Port Services provided necessary aide with our heavy lift capacity equipment and warehousing facility. It takes an experienced team and hardy equipment to store heavy outdoor generators and we were there to get the job done.
According to The Port of Virginia®, “Port’s October Volumes Break All-Time Record; Truck, Rail and Barge Cargo Up as Expansion Work Progresses”
The Port of Virginia® said, “The Port of Virginia® moved 265,490 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in October, which is a growth of more than 11 percent – for containers as well — when compared with the same month last year and an all-time record for the amount of cargo handled in a single month.”
U.S. Port Services wanted to be prepared for this expansion and increased volume so we made the investment in our equipment at the right time and our convenient Warehousing Services in Norfolk, VA, and our Portsmouth, VA Headquarters are also prepared for the continued increase in imports coming to Virginia.
Our agile business model is made to fit the increasing demands of the logistics industry. We have 220,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space available in Norfolk Virginia, plus an additional 130,000 sq. ft. in Savannah, Georgia.
